I'm somewhat joking, but I'm beginning to think so...for example My team lost to Team A 3-1. My team beat Team B 6-0. Team A lost to Team B 3-1. This was all within a few games of each other. I lost 2-0 to another team earlier in the season that then tied the worst team in our division 2-2, while I beat the worst team 4-0 a few games later. I know a lot of it comes down to tactics, and I'm struggling a bit to fix my heavy offside trap issues (please no one give me a link to the advanced formations, I already use them), but some of the results in my group are just a bit strange! I beat the leader 4-1. I lost to the 20th 1-2. Magic. Edit: well if the results are random, randomness is being a good friend this season. Edited by @Dnsvnsk 15-08-2012 15:22 |

When teams are pretty equal I think it can be pretty random. I feel like the sim is set up sort of like the dice roll of a roleplaying game, since real sports simulators like accuscore are also set up like that. So if you've got a 50 average player, he gets 50 "dice" and he winds up against a 51 average player (who gets 51) the other guy has a slight advantage, but you can overtake him if he gets a bad "roll". There are also presumably modifiers based upon tactics which would give you a boost. It's obviously more complex and I might be talking out of my ass, but to me that explains the scenarios like you noted, especially when the teams are pretty close in average. |

Interesting thoughts, illex. What you said makes a lot of sense, especially the comparison to accuscore. In the end, I'm still #2 in my group, but am just baffled by some of the results so far this season. |
