so in real life, yellow and red cards are dealt to control the game, mostly to prevent reckless tackles that may cause injury to another player. SM should be the same. last game i played, my players got beat up by the other team. their CDF was called with 8 fouls without being given a single card. their RDF got 3 fouls and on the 4th was then given a straight RED, which wasn't exactly fair, may be a YELLOW instead. meanwhile, my RIM does one foul all game and was given a straight YELLOW card. the circumstances seem silly also. many of the 8 fouls by their CDF were while he was the last defender back, which in real life would have been a straight RED. to protect strikers that have high dribbling and get tackled more often than losing the ball, there should at least be a rule in the game that if you have more than 5 fouls the next is an automatic YELLOW and if you have more than 10 fouls the next is an automatic RED. eventually one of my strikers is going to get injured while the defenders continue to play. just protect our strikers. its hard to win if you can't score because you are injured. game in reference is here: http://uk.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=6440860 |

+1 this one particularly applies to teams who use the Offside Trap. players are constantly getting hacked down from behind after breaking the OT line. There needs to be a balance here and perhaps with cards this will sort itself out. I say to each his own but balance the game, fouls from behind when you are the last man should either be yellow or red. This hacking thing is frustrating to watch, my forwards break the line after much hard work and good passing then get hacked down. The opponents defence resets and now are back in position to defend the freekick. It's really getting to me now, all I want is a balance, right now the Offside Trap is king. |

There isn't a lot that can be done. The SIM was designed wrong from day one. Managers aren't enabling a 'hack' setting for defenders. It's how the SIM plays whether you play the offside trap or not. With the current SIM, if they hand out yellow/red for the tackles then teams will finish with 3 or 4 players been sent off. If they eliminate these tackles, then forwards will get through on goal more often and we'll have unrealistic scores in games. The SIM as it currently stands gives you the option to set some basic tactical options. But when watching a match you will have to ignore the vast majority of what you are watching. |

+1 I don't think the SIM is too far off from a pretty realistic experience. What should be diminished is the rate at which defenders tackle; it sometimes looks like they are skating on grass. It should be adjusted more carefully based on a player's skill attributes such as speed, tackling, strength and such. I believe that the more you move your tactic bar over to man-marking, the more defenders slide tackle. If this is not true, then an extra tactic bar for this feature could be added The rate at which yellow/red cards are given, on the other hand, needs to be increased; it is extremely frustrating to watch the same player hack your forward as he is about to go one on one with the goalkeeper and see him stay in the game. Fouls in different areas of the field should be given varying degrees of seriousness based on how close the team is to scoring, and these varying degrees should be added up into yellow and red cards. |

The thing is, it's so easy for strikers to get pass defenders with this simulator. If It was just a bit harder, we would be able to see less shots and probably more on target, less failed tackles and more realistic booking. In this sim, one player just runs alone and can go pass 1-3 defenders |

-1 Automatic cards is unrealistic by any standard. In real games, you can get a red card for your first challenge in 10 games (think GKs in the penalty area). It depends on the kind of foul. Also, I don't recommend any further changes to the sim, every previous change has introduced tons of unexpected changes to player behavior. |
