There are clamors of mixed reactions with regard to a double amputee who was allowed to compete in 400m relay. Any comments from the ladies and gents? http://l.yimg.com/os/388/2012/07/08/122324239-jpg_033826.jpg Edited by Thayk Ferols 29-07-2012 04:35 |

I'd have to agree, that there is some slight advantage, but there are also some disadvantages so I would like to see data before making any conclusions. I mean technically the amputee has no ankle joint so his feet never flex out of position but then again, The amputee doesn't have and feet and has to train harder to get used to metal legs so its an up in the air situation. If he won, people will cry cheater, if he loses people will say, nice try. Its a double edge sword of things. | 29/07/2012 18:55 |

If you read what was said, you'll realize no one doubted his hard work, commitment, or tenacity. Of course he is an inspiration. From a purely scientific standpoint, however, many have said that these legs give him an advantage. |

If he had an advantage he wouldn't be in the Olympics because the committee heavily researched his ability leg mechanics etc. | 31/07/2012 08:57 |
