Oh well here goes...

21:30 (on small screen) (29:08 on full screen)

Pass from their side to their player just inside their half. This player heads ball and player over line in offside position runs and touches it before anyone else. Now you might think that is not offside because when he does touch it he is no longer in offside position. (But since the ball was passed when he was in offside position he was offside when he received the ball)

Check again my friends.....I have the evidence by the times...

Perhaps many of you don't understand offside (which is quite possible).

I have also conceded that the second goal was onside.

21:36 (small screen) - 2nd goal

Okay, I see now how the graphics look like the players are on my half but in this case he was not.

NOT OFFSIDE.

A few passes here. Some are directed backwards so even though players are in offside position there is no offside call.

However, one key pass pushes the ball forward while whole line of attackers are behind my defence and therefore the attack who receives the ball is offside.

46:25 (Big screen)

This is offside.

52:25

Fourth goal pass - LB probably keeps the player on side.

Of which i feel the same way. I have a case raised here too but then again,
http://uk.strikermanager.com/foros/hilo.php?id=293502

some players just disregard the issue since maybe becoz of their limited knowledge about offsides. can we began a healthy discussions here?

Yes, there are many issues wrong with the game engine, including the offsides but rainting about it here won't help fix it. Report the bugs, and hopefully an @ (and they will, there are many good @'s) will see it and tell the Dev's who might just fix it. 07/07/2012 04:34

Offside has been a problem one way or the other since day 1. It is the most difficult thing to code in the sim, from what i understand. If they tweak it one way.... 30 offside in a game (If you remember those days not to long ago, you are probably happy for the way it is now)... If they tweak it another way, the game goes haywire... still a different way, and you get the way you have it now.

The thing is, right now, the scores look more realistic, and the stats similarly than ever before.... the visuals might not be so great, but they are definintely good. Now....if they could tweak it so that it looked better and the guy appeared on side, great. Unfortunately, it is not that easy

on a brighter side, the sim is giving it both ways, so there is no undue advantage for that. quite fair and level. we can live with that quit satisfied on the fixes made.

however, id like to raise the question of understanding for the managers here what offside is all about. there are conflicting opinion tho....

Golden Ball
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offside_(association_football)

A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is touched or played by a team-mate is only committing an offside offence if, in the opinion of the referee, he becomes actively involved in play...

" at the moment the ball is touched or played by a team-mate" -- when the pass is made.

More impressive, is this:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC535985/

To apply the offside rule correctly in a football game, the referee must be able to keep in his visual field at least five objects at the same time—two players of the attacking team, the last two players of the defending team, and the ball

This is beyond the capacity of the human eye, which may explain why so many offside decisions are controversial.
