Can we stop making it possible for a manager to bid for their own player on auction | 02/06/2012 09:55 |

I once bid for my own player and it wasn't to boost up pricing, i actually wanted to buy my player back to sell him later. And I did exactly that and paid taxes. So this idea would completely stop a manager from doing this which would kinda suck. But yeah I don't like managers who bid for their own players just to boost up pricing either. If they don't want the player to go for low price they shouldn't start auction so low then. |

Until they fix the way the Junior resign system this should not happen. Primarily because it is one way to bump a players hostile clause with out having to resign and then pay 10GB to remove it. They need to make it so that you can give a player a raise and not invoke the "R" protection clause. One way they could solve the problem without, crushing patient's issue or my issue with the "R" is that you can not "bid" on your own auctions, but you could use the direct purchase option. The thinking is that the only time you should be bidding on your own auction is if you want the player back immediately (in which case you use the direct option (and are taxed probably higher than winning the bid)). It also would prevent the up bidding by managers with too much time on their hands. In the end.. I would take them fixing the Junior LineUps from being scrambled daily as a higher priority. |

i guess only paying direct purchase for the owner of the player would be a good idea... and i think that each auction should have a direct purchase, that wold stop managers bidding their own players, and also would help to stop inflation... | 03/06/2012 04:13 |

Couldn't agree more. Bidding up your own players needs to stop. | 05/06/2012 21:08 |

Disagree. I've had a few occasions where I've put players up for bid and then needed them (because of injury or whatever) so I've had to win them myself via auction, yeah I took a 10% tax hit, but it could have been more if I found a quick replacement. I mean yeah it's annoying and rather scummy, but you should really only be placing serious bids on players at the end of the auction when you can anyways. Plus any manager who is bidding their own auction up wasn't going to sell the player at that price anyways, they're just trying to bring more bidders in to hopefully get the price they want by listing low. Banning bidding on your own auction is just going to cause even more people to list their 28/40 players for $20 million. Just know you should just not even deal with someone who bids on their own auction. |
