I got totally wiped out in this game: http://uk.strikermanager.com/partido.php?id=5459957&accion=simul Mostly because I rely a lot on my offside trap. But with the latest changes, it appears the offside rule has been almost totally written out of the game - the opposing striker has received several passes from so far offside that he ought to be yellow carded - but he never gets called! Many of those passes resulted in totally unfair goals. The game used to blow offside far too often - now it's swung in the opposite direction. Developers, please can you take a look at this? Thanks! |

Cheers to the developers for making this swing in favor of those who use good tactics rather than just rely on getting the opponent offsides 20-30 times a game. oh how we all enjoyed seeing every pass result in an offside call. adjust your tactics as you can no longer rely on 20+ offside calls a game. this change is for the better. |

But in the REAL world, that really IS an offside! And REAL teams also play offside traps! If anything needs to be fixed, let the forwards/midfielders have some kind of skill that helps them to keep themselves onside, or not pass to players who are offside. But to eliminate the offside law altogether offends my sensibilities, and incentivizes the wrong behavior; there's a reason why there's an offside rule in soccer. Without an offside rule, you have to keep your defenders back all the time, because your opponent could simply leave his CF hanging around your penalty area waiting for a long ball, and he'll never get called offside! A non-functioning offside rule is a recipe for terrible game play. |

i have no problem with valid offside calls but i do not have any sympathy for people who park their defenders across the midfield line to exploit the simulator and call that a valid tactic lol | 22/05/2012 17:51 |

But my game was just ridiculous. I got totally smashed because of this exact situation: the CF was hanging out most of the time way behind my backline and receiving long passes, so that he either ran straight at goal unchallenged, or got tripped in the area by a defender, resulting in a penalty. |

It looks like the only offside that resulted in a goal was the 4th goal. The rest were on side. |
