just like in real life vijj, heavy cash reserves are held by many big firms, they will pay the right amount for a quality product and not more.

Its not logical to blame managers that have been around longer or played the game well to get into a position of wealth for high prices for the top players.
80 FC players are quite affordable to a Div 5 manager on auction, he trains that player and sells him when he reaches Div 3 for example for 200M. He then goes to auction to find a 90+FC player with enough money to win the auction.
I see no problem with the system exactly the way it is.

I would not pay on auction more than 50M for a junior CF with a FC of 90.
However, I would pay 100M for a 93 FC junior as these are very scarce and so would any manager in his right mind if he had the money because it is a good INVESTMENT. You can make 10 times your money back.

Now, the way to get that money is play the game right, as my example above illustrates, and given time and patience, any manager can and will become a powerful buyer.

As OP of this thread i'm delighted that this has generated some very interesting points of views...thanks and please feel free to comment further.

I have been playing the game for a year and a half and somebody kindly created this Frequency of schools list for me:

http://www.scribd.com/full/52586538?access_key=key-1grp92r2ncarlbpssr69

I do hope this helps some people work out their perfect strategy for generating good sale-able juniors.

My opinion is there are some managers in the game who want to get rich quick and they inflate their prices. This however affects the new managers who struggle to afford an average skill player (prices have increased since i first started playing).

I am glad that there is a button now called [Similar Trans.] which helps people navigate the minefield of players being sold.

Finally i would suggest people find their limit and give each position an average of their own personal max bid / buyout

(10 Avg DF 14yr should be about 20,000 in my opinion. A 40 Avg DF 14yr should be about 6,000,000 in my opinion)

People tend to deal in percentages and not the facts of what average a player is now and how long it will take to make this
10 Avg DF 14yr into a 56 Avg DF ??yr

I will finish by saying i have been planning for a while about writing a thread about this topic so please don't hate me for anything i write, it's purely my own opinion. Please continue to comment and have a say as this is your game and the Dev's are very good at responding to any forms of criticism in the game

Thank you

I will go as far as saying your opinion is warranted but very subjective. I like your price targets, but they are unrealistic as of now in that; the population of actual managers increases (theoretically) continiously over time. The more users you have the more buying of players you have. Along with that increase in population of users, you end up having a shortage of good players. So prices continue to rise.

Then, you have bugs from new developments. Last season wingers were dropped fast and up for grabs all over the auction block and then a fix to the bug and Rw and Lw's became popular again. This created a decrease in wingers both senior and juniors.

The end result is a series of outside forces effecting the market. SM has a very classical and monetary approach to economics of SM. Where eventually the market will even itself out in the long run and Hey, what you are seeing is that exact approach. Does it work, well some think yes and others say there needs to be an overghaul.

I agree with others that its not long time users reaping benefits. I thik its because of a lack of stabilizers. But understand this has been brought up before and @'s as well as Devs are working on the issue. This season alone, there was a huge influx of syatem bot seniors and junior players on auction helping stabilize div 5 and 6 managers so more competition can grow. Slowly, developments are happening. Best advice is to stay up on the forums and farm out junior positions that are very valuable and 3 seasons later with a good coach and training schedule, you will have a ton of money. Just have to be smart my friend. Good luck.

Also, in theory, with more money, managers can build more Excellent rated schools in 4 and 5 star countries. More Excellent schools means more high progression jrs. More high prog jrs means less demand. Les demand means lower prices.

In theory.

The game as a whole seems to work very well and I take on board your comment about my opinion as it is probably very subjective.

Don't get me wrong i love SM and I have been playing nearly every day for a year and a half. I used to play WoW before i grew up and realised how much time was being wasted, so i understand about the economic factors involved in games.

I have a good plan as you say to create select position juniors for the next few seasons.

Good luck to you also and to anyone else reading this thread, may you forever be clever with your finances and never spend more than a day in the red (if ever)....

What I'm trying to explain is how it works, based on facts, not opinions and maybe I'm not doing it clearly.

Lets define two phrases quickly for clarification:

Inflated offers: These are offers either on auction or market forum or private message demands by a manager who values his player higher than it should be. These can be ignored for this topic because they have no bearing on actual purchase prices. Do not be led astray by some ridiculous amounts wanted for players by some managers, these players do NOT get sold. I saw recently an extreme example of this, an 80 something CDF I think it was on auction for 3 billion.
Now dont get confused by very high ACTUAL purchase prices made, thats different and I'll get to that later.

Inflated prices: Actual purchase prices that a buyer has paid that is way to high for that players value. These are not tolerated in Striker Manager and the Seller will be fined substantially with an extra penalty added to that. We now have an excellent group of fiscal @ who will deal with those cases.

So what are we left with:

All the players that do get sold (actual sales) that are paid for according to current market demand on auction/direct purchase, transfer agreement and hostile clause. So lets take a look at each of them in the context of our topic:

Auction/ Direct Purchase.
I'll use the CF in my previous post as an excellent example:
http://uk.strikermanager.com/inicio.php?accion=/historial.php%3Fid_jugador%3D8032372
Sold on auction for 78M, a 20/15 CF with a shown forecast of 93, the seller started the auction at zero.
A totally legitimate sale, everyone can bid, not an inflated offer in other words.

Now, how many 93+ CF's juniors are out there in our Striker world, maybe 20. I've been keeping track as I train CF junior and its about that number. So that would satisfy 20 Div 1 managers, what about the rest of us? Where are those 20 CF's - mostly in Div 1, a few dotted around in the higher leagues.
I have tons of CF's but the best I have is 92 forecast and I would have loved to have won that auction but it was too expensive for me. And this brings me to an important point - if the auction was totally fair and open, why are the sellers being blamed for the price?
Should the buyer be blamed? Of course not, he's just bidding with his budget and wants to win the auction at whatever his budget limit is. If not, too bad, somebody else wins it. The fact that Div 1 managers have more money is a part of the game and correctly so I think, one should be rewarded for making it to that level.

Transfer Agreement.
Based on auction prices with high forecast player transactions carefully looked at by fiscal@ to ensure they stay in line.

Hostile clause.
Not really pertinent to this topic as high value juniors are normally resigned

Lets also not forget that it was much easier in the early days to have a whole squad of excellent seniors an juniors relatively quickly as there were fewer managers (lower demand) and more than enough players (over supply)
Now that we have our first season of Div 1, I have a feeling there will be a lot of evening out as the seasons go on and the top guys start getting relegated (earning less) etc.

Rest assured
The game will find its balance.
