By fullbacks I assume you mean LB and RB. Many teams have LDF, CDF, RDF 29/04/2012 19:11

The few teams who have complete faith in them are not yet at Div. 1. One of them, @grantis45's team, will be next season, so we can all watch and learn from his div. 1 experience. 29/04/2012 19:21

I think fullbacks are useful for the obvious reasons like stopping a dangerous winger but I suppose it depends on you league and how you want your team to play.

At the moment my fullbacks are not ready for division 1 and probably won't be until the middle of next season. The reason for that is that I didn't quite understand how to train them properly until the middle of last season.

Clearances is the key, as it trains technique, however only about .5 technique per training session.

Same goes for aggressiveness, but that's a bit easier as tackling trains that, but once again only .5 per session.

I'm hoping that once technique and aggression get up to around the 70 mark, then there will be no reason why they shouldn't be as good as a CDF/LDF or RDF. I have noticed quite a bit of improvement since those stats got up to around the 50 mark.

I wish to god I'd had a bunch of 14 yr old LB/RB's 2 seasons ago and known what technique/aggressiveness did at the time. But I missed a trick and am spending the next season and a half repairing these guys and putting some passing on my wingers. Still, it's better than spending 400 million on a defender.

If you're going to train backs then you want to forget all other positions(same goes for wingers). backs train speed with sprint, the other defenders train with running. If you want the best players in the game you have to seriously specialize on them. 30/04/2012 13:18
