at time 08:22 an offside was called for a play that was clearly onside since the players and the ball were behind the defenders!

dude u should know a bit more how the offside rule works before you answer!!!!!!!!!

First of all, if player from team A (who is in front of the defenders of team B) passes the ball to a teammate who is behind the last defender of team B..that's offside.
But in the incident i just pointed out in 08:22, the green player is already behind the other team and he passed the ball to another player who is also behind the other team, the offside rule should not take effect!!!

Secondly, if the opposing defenders cross the halfway line, then the offside rule wont be appied..that's why the linesmen never cross the halfway line!!!

 lol, I know a bit more about offside than you do mate.

There's a penalty, the four green guys run up the field well ahead of all the defender. Once over the half way line one forward makes a forward pass to another forward - that is offside under FIFA rules. You can't pass forward!!!! 		14/02/2012 21:43

 That was offside, the player he passed to was in front of the ball. Silly you. Happens all the time to me the players should be a bit smarter. You can just move your players behind the ball on advanced formation that fixes it reasonably well. 14/02/2012 22:03

The only thing that matters about the defenders is that you are behind him.

If you are in the forward half when the pass is made to you, you are offside.

 That's fine man. It's one thing that the Sim does well, offsides from open play. By that I mean the interpretation of the rule, not intelligence of passing.
