Do you agree that in the case of a hostile purchase, the previous owner should get the cash immediately, and not when the player is transferred 24 hours later?

When a player is bought with the hostile clause, there is a 24 grace period before the transfer takes effect (good) so that the unwilling seller has time to find a replacement player. But that ain't much good if he's totally cash strapped, and is only going to get his money 24 hours later. For example, I have a balance of about 1,000 EUR at this point, and someone just bought my best player for 6,000,000 EUR. Happy to be getting the money (I made a tidy 2,000,000 profit on the trade), but it seems silly that I have to wait 24 hours to get it, so I can't go shopping for a replacement until my player is already gone... Edited by PoshuterYid 24-01-2012 17:30 The unvoluntary seller has the option to release his player earlier than after 24 hours, then he get's his money as soon as he releases him. In that case, of course, the player is gone and can't play in his squad anymore. Sometimes that can be a tough choice, but that's how it works. In my view this part of the game doesn't need to be changed. |

I still disagree: often you'll want to replace your lost player by making a hostile purchase yourself. If you have the cash flow up front, you can find a replacement player almost back-to-back with losing your player. Can be quite fun having a domino effect of hostile purchases. | 24/01/2012 17:57 |

its a tough situation. here are some keys to combating the hostile clause, which have been discussed in previous treads: 1. have enough cash on hand to be able to buy the player you need. then you are in the driving seat 2. take out a loan to buy the new player. after the player has been purchased then release the hostile clause. if you are squimish about loans and repayment, you can pay it off immediately with only mild loss (but if you are net positive from the hostile clause, it will only eat into your profits a little). 3. if you have a good coaching sec, he can return a result within 24 hours. immediately search for a replacement player and then release followed by buy of the new player 4. check the market and see if a replacement player is being sold within 24 hours. get your money, then place bid on the auction. |

other points: have redundant but cross cover depth so that if a player gets hostiled/injured you have a replacement. and of course, value your player so they dont get hostiled to begin with. if they do - make sure you get paid! to answer the thread - the hostile clause is a transaction. you should get paid when the transaction is complete. if you get the money sooner and your player may still play in a match (and not for the new team), then that doesnt make sense. again, you get paid when the transaction is complete.
