Interesting, because that play looks completely onside to me! He's level with the ball when it's being played to him, which mean it shouldn't be called back. To me, this is a great example of the fixes that have been made, especially in the intelligence of strikers to stay onside and not to pass to those who are offside. |

Only if they make a back pass. http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/afdeveloping/refereeing/5.%20law%2011_554.pdf |

Point is, that should be the exception, not the rule | 24/01/2012 13:20 |

That is what I'm saying. It should be the exception that the attacking players actually pass it to make it offside. Or the other players awaiting the ball should already know better than to go in front of the ball carrier. It should be an exception when offside occurs in that situation.... Shouldn't happen frequently if at all. | 24/01/2012 14:04 |

Before I write this - disclaimer - I know this isn't FIFA I play a lot of coop FIFA with my friend, it is quite hard to judge passing when you're one on one and trying to avoid creating an offside situation. I used to play Rugby as well where you are penalised for a forward pass anywhere on the field. It's not as easy as it looks. |

I disagree. If you are 1v1 with a keeper it is pretty easy to ensure that you stay behind the ball possessor. | 24/01/2012 18:34 |
