Just one for discussion but I think this game has a serious gearing flaw. The top teams are approaching Division 1 and no doubt the dawn of a 1 billion pound player..yet in Div 6 I'm struggling to raise cash for a player circa 5million. I'm aware this game isn't real life and not comparable to Premier league..and I know the guys who joined 3 years ago will say.."tough shit newbie"..but hyperinflation is gonna kill it...someone needs to hose that nuclear reactor.. 19/01/2012 21:17

I was the same way in div 6.

Get good youth, specialize, and train them well with a good coach.

In 2-3 seasons you can have a crop of 70+ players, and your player valuations will become warped too.

Build your stadium so you are raking in 10M/game when you get to div 2.

We can look back at this post and laugh....good times...

Yes, but unlike the real world there is not a limite supply of talent. You will find Good players for cheap at first with an investment of time, and then you will find better players by being smart with your money.

In 2 months if you're ambitious and resourceful enough, you'll be much better off. The good news is you have 5 more seasons minimum to build up your squad. My team's average in div. 6 was 40 points lower than it is now, and that was in mid-June, just to give you an idea of the kind of timeframe that is possible. My stadium then pulled in about 300k/home game (or something like that). Now I pull in 8.5 million/home game with all the bells and whistles from billboards and so on. Of course weekly expenses are just about 10 million, but it's manageable and makes it possible to save up for my equivalent of a 5 million player: a 100 million player. I remember when I bought my first 3 million dollar player and how much money that seemed. It's part of the game, just try not to get discouraged by older teams and trust you'll soon be beating Div. 2 and Div. 1 teams
