Something which has become especially apparent to me recently is the ever increasing cost of players. Every time a player is bought or re-signed they have a wage increase and the value of their hostile clause goes up with it. Where will this end?! The problem with this is that each time you lose a player to a hostile clause it seems to be increasingly more difficult to replace them; firstly because there is rarely a similar player on the market; and secondly because the hostile clause of other players has rocketed and your money doesn't buy them anymore. So what do you do, pay a lot more for a comparable player or settle for someone who is not as good? Perhaps I'm missing something here but I don't really see how this is expected to work without having to re-sign all your players onto better deals every few days!!!! |

One of the reasons for this is because no one has yet reached the limit of possible incomes yet. For example, every day I remodel my arena the new seats will easily be filled up and incomes increase. I earn in average 22 millions per (cup)week in ticket incomes only, and the expenses are "only" 8 millions. 14 new millions each week to spend on players. In addition to this, it is still quite easy for everyone (except div 2-teams) to be promoted to a higher division which means even more incomes. Another, even more important, reason is that the demand for good players is higher than supply. This low supply is only a question of time I suppose. Just make sure you always have all your money invested in players. Having them on your account does nothing for you. The better players the faster their value increase so the segregation in SM is growing for sure, but even that is a matter of time until the best times have piled up players with just too high salary in the long run. I can already now see a few teams with more than 12 million of player salaries per week. |

That's all very well and good but I make less than £2M per game and can't afford to have a squad on massive salaries just to keep their hostile clause up. Currently I'm having to spend (a lot) more time hunting for replacement players than I do actually concentrating on my team, tactics, stadium etc. and in all honesty it's becoming a little tiresome...especially when the next day you may have to do it all over again. Previously I didn't mind too much because you should make money on the player you sell and then have more to spend on his replacement but now it's getting increasingly more difficult to find those replacements within an affordable budget. |

Player salaries on your level is almost negligable compared to the value increase of the players. Conclusion: Raise all your players salaries by at least 50%. That will solve your problems for at least one or two months. | 17/01/2012 16:44 |
