The price of players in SM seems so unrealistic this season... compared to last season, price of same players has doubled.

I play SM to escape real life... but find myself complaining abt increasing prices here, as i do in real life

+1 hostile is the only way forward and soon finding decent hostiles will be difficult.

Well, prices do take a while to adjust to changing conditions. Last season a totally new training regimen was introduced, the meaning of averages and stats changed because of the new sim, skills were introduced, and the 8k experience rule greatly reduced the supply of high-quality juniors.

The net result is a jump in the value of older players, high-progression juniors and high-average players in general. It's economics 101: decrease supply and demand goes up along with the price.

Also, at the end of 2 seasons ago, they changed the starting average of div. 5,6,7 teams to 10-15 lower than it was, which has completely eliminated the supply of high-average players. Plus the scout no longer returns *any* players with average above 33. More supply choking = higher prices. 12/01/2012 15:33

yeah, that change with teams getting 10-15avg worse players was also a very bad decision.. made everything overpriced and further increased the gap between new and old teams. And made games a complete boredom to watch in new simulator lol

@CelloG, I understand the eco behind the change. but cannot understand the dramatic change in price of 10 off days from close of last season to this season.

i mean supply-demand curve will move gradually, and the only way the slope will increase if there has been a deal-breaker. what is that deal breaker this season? all the thing you listed were there by end-part of 3rd season as well...

deal breakers

More teams, and more active teams (more money)
Training slower for higher average players (yes, it is very fast < 50-60) (fewer players of highest caliber)
8000xp rule creating less juniors (fewer high quality juniors)
$0 juniors not available (fewer high quality juniors)
Lower avg for teams entering game. (upward stress on mid level players)
Bigger stadiums (More money)
Div 2 created (more money)

All signs point to higher.

and Reb, you forgot one more:

end of season rewards from sponsors, TV contracts and season tickets money created A LOT of money, so more people can fight for players with more money on hand.

Price increase isn't unrealistic.

But it's really happening, so by definition, it's realistic.
