What a lot of people tend to do is in advance formation put wingers in wing position when ball is in centre (so as to not lose out on motivation), but for other positions have the wingers play as CFs. Generally a decent winger will have pace (to outrun the defence) and a winger with reasonable finishing will work as an auxiliary CF for you. Secondly with the high offside trap becoming very influential in striker manager, make sure you use it. I am not going to explain it since it has been discussed in detail on various threads in the forum, but it is something to be considered. I have not looked at your formation and games and am just making a general comment, so if you implement it already then you can ignore this para. Lastly the most overlooked aspect in SM is formation to suit your players. If you look through formation if higher manager (check out few D2/D3/D4 teams) they all have formations customised to suit their best players and not players to suit a standard formation. So you not necessarily have a play a standard football formation like 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1,etc. Get creative with formations to maximise the talent you have. Once you start winning, you can always buy players to move on to a formation you want. But always start with formation to fit the players and not other way around. thanks +1, bunkr is absolutely right |

+1, I don't even own a CF/LF/RF and I'm in div 3. One thing I will say is high offside trap is really good against teams who don't know about it. However against teams who understand the high offside trap, they are going to be going one on one with your keeper a lot unless you get fairly fast defenders. |
