He was offside, behind the defense when the pass was made. You have to stop action and scroll down to see it. which is impossible, because you can't scroll down a paused game.... so slow the game down, scroll down and pause as soon as pass is made. but he *was* offside. |

To add to what @reb said: I went and looked this up myself when Uriguay pointed out that I was wrong in an earlier thread. According to the FIFA rules for offsides, a player can still be ruled to be offside if he was in a position of advantage prior to a pass or shot, even if that shot bounces off of a defender or the crossbeams of the goal.
