There is a way to guesstimate progression, in addition to the GB search. Or at the very least compare players' progression. Motivation x Coach x Training x Prog (am I forgetting anything?) = training increase. So if you watch two similar players, say CDFs, you can see which one gains more per training. It takes some time.

Also I think someone said this but schools show the player's progression.

High progression means almost always high forecast but this will not always necessarily happen. I've got 1 or 2 players with good progression stuck at a certain point even when they were still 20 years old. Take this into account too. 29/12/2011 17:24

So this would also mean that as soon as a player comes through a school I will see his "potential" through the progression percentage. If that is so will schools of higher quality produce better progression players? Also what effect does the school have on the players being produced, I mean in terms of level of the school? 29/12/2011 18:35

This is murky territory. It's unclear exactly how the level of the school affects the players produced. But as a general rule, they higher the level of the school, and the higher the country rating, the better player (higher progression, you will get). My Netherlands excellent school (rating 100%) produces players with progression 70+. My Brazil regular school (country rating also 100%) produces players <60% progression.
