Pls,does the country ratings always have effect on type of players produced in each school? Like brazil having 100% rating & china having 30%. Also, does the quality of school really matter in player development? Like low, high, regular & excellent. 19/12/2011 12:36

Yes. Better the quality of country better are chances of getting high progression players... 19/12/2011 13:30

its not as simple as it sounds.even with the best school which is brazil excellent you still get very very bad players that can't even pay the bill of your weekly maintenance fee which is approximately 2m.i have a brazil excellent school and i invested all i had to get because my expectation was very high.so bro i'm not saying you shouldn't get a school but just don't expect much. 19/12/2011 15:03

There seems to be much of "my" in the above - ie your thoughts, not what is actual. Schools aren't necessarily meant to make immediate money, which you imply with your first sentence. Stadiums are meant to make money. I'm not sure what you were expecting - 90% prog players every 6 days? That's rather unrealistic and naive. I do find it funny that in most school threads you pop up and say you have an Excellent Brazil and then complain about said school. If it's such a financial burden, the shut the school down...pretty simple.

I'll give a counter example to yours, since you present only one jaded side. My Excellent Netherlands school has produced a 82% prog forward, and an 84% prog forward.

So, to the original question, the country rating and school quality affect the progression. Last I heard, the starting averages are randomly generated. But most people accept a low avg-high progression player.

What are you looking for in a school, and how much $ do you have to spend? Stadium > school in my opinion, so the stadium comes first. Are you looking at schools as a long-term investment, like most everything else in the game, or primarily to make quick money by selling students? I do a bit of both, keep the prog players I want, sell the others to help offset the weekly cost + primary construction cost.

Others have said, and I tend to agree, that 4-5 ball schools are the best. I've heard (but do not have) that Excellent Portugal or Croatia schools are good long-term investments- I think they are relatively cheap and produce good progression players. Others have said that Uruguay Excellent produces good players. 2 of my OMs that I bought are 70 and 75 progression came from Uruguay Excellent schools. I have a 60 prog GK in my Uruguay Excellent. My schools are public, so feel free to look at them. I think I've a few pupils I've not promoted. There is a table in the FAQs that shows the frequency of players. The higher the frequency, the higher the build & weekly maint fee.

I'll PM you some progressions from my various schools so you'll have a sample. In my experience, schools don't consistently produce good players - it's a mix. My Germany produced a 70% prog LM, which is decent, and then some crappy 56 or so % IM that I fired (his avg was way to low to try and sell).
