I always get offers to take the place of system bot teams in higher divisions, I am wondering what are the drawbacks of this? Will my supporters decrease because I'd be taking on a poor league record? Would I be able to come up with a new sponsorship deal since my top 3 one in my current division would be impossible to fulfill if I took the place of a team with poor standing with so few games left? I would like to know if anyone has had experience with this. |

i was in d5, top of my league after 10 games and doing well and took on an offer for a d4 team. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. I realized that i was ill equipped to deal with the d4. i was burdened with the 9 losses and a solitary draw the team i was replacing "won". Then there was the minimum stadium accessories where i had to suddenly come up with 8.5 M in cash to upgrade stadium... and no new sponsors, you get stuck with same sponsorship deal which you have at start of season. before you take a jump remember: 1) You will have to cough up the stadium accessories. for d5 you will need to spend 5M + the accessories will burn a 500k size hole from your kitty every week. Do you have a stadium to ensure sustainable challenge with increase costs? 2) You will have to make a critical analysis of the fixtures the team you are gonna replace has. Can you win them and be in a safe position or will you fall back to d6? Have a look at the squad strength of the team in the div of team you are gonna face. Generally it is a better bet, in my opinion, to strengthen up BEFORE jumping a div rather than after. I found that by hard experience. |

always better not to take up these offers as you will be deprived of many bonuses that you may get during the course of the normal promotion | 06/12/2011 08:56 |

It's certainly not always better to decline. I jumped from div 5 to div 4 at the very beginning of the season. I had money in the bank for accessories and my team was better than all the teams in the division. Well worth it for me. Simply because beating higher ranked teams gains you more supporters, which in turn means you can put your ticket prices up. I does depend. |
