Does anyone know exactly how release clause is calculated when resigning a player in regards to the years left on the contract = as far as I noticed the clause would be much higher if you resign a player when he has only 1 year left on the contract compared to let's say 5 or 6 years. Does anyone have more insight on this topic? | 06/11/2011 23:29 |

Never noticed that before but I think the release clause value is based on a couple of things. Firstly, player loyalty, the higher the loyalty attribute, the higher the release clause will be for less money. Secondly, player average to forecast. I've noticed that when a players average approaches his maximum forecast you have to pay them a lot more money to keep their release value high. That's all I got. | 06/11/2011 23:58 |

Loyalty? Where did you find this attribute? And I'm talking about the exact same player (same attributes, age, etc.) that you would resign when he had 5 years compared to 1 year left on contract. This is just my feeling, I'm not 100% sure it's true but I have a feeling it is. This is why: 1. When I promote a junior from a school to the junior team they get assigned a contract by computer. If I try to resign him immediately with years left on the contract I have to pay him 5x or more times as much just to reach the current buy out clause. 2. If I resign a senior player for let's say 5 years/5000k today and then in a few weeks decide that maybe 5000k is not enough and I should give him 6.000k to raise the buy out clause then I would have to pay him a lot more than 5.000k just to reach the initial buy out clause. This is my experience. + plus it makes sense that the buy out clause affects the game in more than just the length of the contract. Loyalty is a hidden attribute like Progression and affects salary to hostile clause ratio dramatically. You can find it if you use Search+ to find players with Scout or Coach Sec. Actually it used to be called Fidelity. Not sure if it's called that still. It's the reason why if you have 2 players with the same average and age and everything else is identical, one will be easier to pay more than the other. Don't understand the school thing that seems a little odd to me, not sure why it would be that way. I also know the older players get the more you need to pay them. I've had players stay on the same average for ages, then when I go to increase their release clause later on, it says that if I pay them now what I used to pay them they will be worth less. In my experience you're better off paying Junior players as much as you think they're going to be worth later on. It might cost you now but you'll save heaps in the long run. |

Primarily I'm asking so I have a better idea of: 1. when to resign a player (one year left on the contract or 5) and 2. for how how many years to maximize the release clause. |

Sorry man, I can't help you. I resign all my players for seven years for reasons given above. | 07/11/2011 12:23 |
