I noticed today that the interest rate on my deposits is down to about 8.5%.. A few weeks ago it was 10.25%.. I have not changed my financial manager at all. Are bank rates fluctuating? What makes them fluctuate? Is there some master rate that is published somewhere that is a standard that gets modified based on your financial manager and other conditions? I am trying to understand the economics of the game, but it is difficult when data is not published or made available on things like this. 30/10/2011 19:52

yes they fluctuate

theories range from faeries in the CPU to money supply to finance manager to amount you have out.

Probably some combination of all 4

No, because rates aren't the same for everyone, although they do float in same direction i think.

They can't give you all the formulas, or else people could reverse engineer the game.

So far I've seen it fluctuating between 5% and 20%. 30/10/2011 21:40

I don't want the formula, but would like to know the elements involved. If they said interest rate is based on X, Y, Z and A, B, C that is not the same as saying... (X-A)^2 + (B-C) + (Y*Z).. If the game is 100% random it loses it's appeal. A game should be able to be decomposed without people being able to cheat unfairly.

Money supply, Finanacial Manager, and loan activity.

No idea.

In economics, there's a term for the stock market "Random Walk"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_walk

As far as we're concerned, it may as well be completely random.

I expect it to be pretty random. Was running some compound interest models so caught my attention that it was flucuating. By putting away as little as 500,000 every week and reinvesting interest could pocket over $11m in interest alone in 3 seasons. Comparing to investing in stadium construction, I suspect that until you have Pro seating stadium construction is more lucrative if you can afford it.

Buying a CF at 15 avg for 500k and training him for 1 season can make you 11M also.

With a good coach, you can put 10 points on a player in a big, big hurry.

Buying 1 decent player a week and training them up will give you a great team, or at least players to sell for a ton of money.

for some people out here, saying that interest (or training, which is what i wanted to hear about) depends on X, Y and Z is pretty much like giving the formula.

To date I have not had great luck with training players. In part, because I havent fully explored that side of the game. The big problem I currently have with training system is that it is slanted to create player mills where training by position is rewarded instead of team training. Also, it seems insane training an older player makes them worse. They should just get worse naturally based on age. I think the new training addresses some of this so will look to play with it sooner than later.

Overall, SM is pretty kick ass much better than it's competitors so excited to see it grow over time.
