does anyone understand the new skills? i checked them and i don't get what half of them do. like, does aerial play mean offensive aerial play like headers bicycle kicks, etc. or defensive aerial play like defensive headers, etc.? what is the slalom technique? i've been playing this sport for 5 years and i've never heard that. when i searched it on google, i got a bunch of warm-up drills. does, steel lung mean they run faster or they have more endurance-if it's endurance, does that mean that their stamina doesn't decrease as much? also, is change of pace and running with the ball better for forwards, midfielders, or defenders? i would say forwards/wingers but that not what the training says... finally, it would be really useful if someone can give a list of positions and the three best skills for each. 30/10/2011 01:28

Golden Ball

By now, most of the top teams have used skills on most of the positions. If you want to know the top 3 for each, then look at the top teams.

There will be some debate, in terms of midfielders though. You might want an offensive RIM, or a defensive RIM. You also might want a CF who can head the ball in, vs. avoid someone once he gets the ball and accelerate away...

You might want a defender who can intercept passes, or one that will attempt to steal the ball by tackling the person. I can tell you I am already taking skills for positions that you wouldn't normally consider "top 3"

So there is no such thing at the moment. You cannot construct a perfect player. Only perfect for you.

the guy? please tell me you know its ibra

ill give you some explanations for the vague skills to the best of my knowledge, some might be wrong:

change of pace: the player will run faster when he is tackled. you can see that by watching a player who has that skill combined with a good dribbling avg

running with the ball: the player will usually run towards empty space to get more ground for your team. for example, if there is an opponent a but further front, he will run diagonally.

steel lung: it helps keep stamina high. (this isnt based on my experience, but i read it somewhere i think)

aerial play: i dont think it means offensive or defensive. i havent seen any header goals until now in this sim. it just means that the player will be more likely to get possession of high balls. players usually get the ball to the ground first then shoot/pass...or they just head it forward in defensive positions or when the ball is in the middle of the field.

lunging tackle: better slide tackling

defensive wall: better at intercepting passes
