Does training need completely restructuring?

The current unhappy state of affairs with training has lead to a big debate about training levels in the belief training can be fixed by adjusting them. But even if an acceptable training level is found we will still have a totally bizarre training system. Older players who train get worse. An older player may get slower but can't he get stronger, can't he become a better leader? Does training make someone slower anyway? Training for penalty shots improves strikers but not goalkeepers. Similarly when defenders practice man marking are not strikers practicing beating markers? Isn't practice in taking shots as effective for a RF as a CF? How can teams who only train certain positions not suffer from a collapse in morale for players who don't ever train? These are just a few points. Do the developers have long term plans for training? At the moment we are arguing over trying to fix a system that will never be anything other than trivial and unrealistic. have to agree, if the whole team's training at sprinting, then the whole team is gonna get faster, it doesn't matter what position you play in. | 12/10/2011 14:05 |

The way I see it, if you are training your goal keepers on saves who is kicking the ball for him to save likewise if your training your attackers on beating markers who are they beating. Training (attackers) in my opinion should be mirrored by corresponding training by the (defenders), since they train as a team. Same if you are training defenders or goalkeepers |

What we need is trainings by name of training 1, training 2,...... So that nobody can comment on the name. People understand this game. There must be a limit. I know training could be a little quicker but that's it. Otherwise in 2 season more even 90 avg would be of no use. | 12/10/2011 15:13 |

This post isn't about training speed, but about structure. People do understand the game, and consequently can make a judgement that it doesn't always make sense. Why this was moved to suggestions, I don't know. The original post was a poll to gauge if there is support for change, not a suggestion of what that change should be. |

if admins so worried about too many good players lasting too long. Why not add real life injury, where players can be out for a whole season or players career can end as a result of an horrific injury. Or small niggling injury can lead to players average to lowered or some cases get decimated. In that way they can leave the training for juniors as it was last season. | 12/10/2011 17:26 |

The training system is too slow and needs to be revisited. I dont completely agree with the original post in this thread. We shouldn't get hung up on the names of the training. The idea is for you to figure out which training most influence the players (or playing style) you want to develop. The current names just make it more interesting than titles of training#1, training#2... etc. For those who cant appreciative that concept, it could be confusing. | 13/10/2011 05:26 |
