Dear users, this thread explains the sale and purchase of players. So sit back, read it, and enjoy. Further, while reading this tutorial I would recommend you open one of your player's profile in a separate window for better understanding. If you still have any doubts feel free to post your questions in the Doubts and Questions Forum (http://uk.strikermanager.com/foros/foro.php?id=957) The transaction of sale and purchase can be done in the following ways: 1. Transfer agreement 2. Hostile clause 3. Auction + Direct Buy 4. Loan 1. Transfer Agreement If you want to buy another team’s player, but he is not for sale on auction, you can hire the player directly by agreeing upon a price with another manager. Follow these steps: a) go to the player’s profile b) To find an acceptable price range, click “Similar Transactions” under the “Contract” button. A list of recent sales of similar players will appear. Note the median price, this will be a good price. You will be fined money if your price is too low or too high, so this step is very important. c) Go back to that player’s profile, and click “Hire” under the “Contract” button in the upper right. d) A new window will appear, choose the amount you would like to pay to hire the player, the salary you would like to pay the player, and the number of years of contract to offer the player. Click “Send” and the offer will be sent to the other manager. The money will be put into escrow and appear to be withdrawn from your account immediately. Tax is not charged until the other manager agrees to the transaction. e) The other manager can access the offer under the “Signings” -> “Acquisitions” menu. f) If the manager accepts your offer, the money that is in escrow is given to him, and you pay tax on the transaction. If the manager refuses the offer, the money in escrow is returned to your account. Remember, it is best to negotiate an acceptable price with the other manager in advance, and you MUST enter a price that is similar to market prices on the auction or you will be fined. 2. Hostile clause It is also possible to buy another team’s player without negotiating with the manager by paying the amount of the player’s Release Clause. (note: You cannot execute this maneuver on a manager who has less than 8000 experience. You will also not able to hostile another's player if you have less than 8000 experience.) To exercise a release clause (commonly referred to as "Hostile Clause") Follow these steps: a) go to the player’s profile b) on the upper right, under Team, you will find “Release Clause.” This is the price that must be paid to purchase the player outright, without permission of the current manager c) follow the steps above for transfer agreement, and enter this price as the price to pay for the player. d) if one of your players is purchased from you by hostile clause, you can choose to sell him immediately by going to “Signings” -> “For Sale” and clicking “Sell Now” After the transaction succeeds, there money is put in escrow for a 24 hour hold period (reflected immediately in your cash available). After the 24 hour hold, the the player transfers to your squad, escrow money given to the (now former) owner, and tax on the sale is withdrawn from your account as the player arrives at your team. Hostile Clause Transactions are one of the most frequently asked about aspects of the game. It might seem a bit tricky, but this is the most interesting part of the game so new managers must understand this properly. To prevent other players from taking (buying) your your best players via hostile clause, you have to raise their salary and thus, the release clause, to a prohibitively high amount. To do this, you must re-sign a player by going to his profile page and clicking “Re-Sign” under the “Contract” page. Increase the player’s salary, and the Release Clause amount will automatically update to show you what it will be. Raise the player’s salary until the release clause is at an amount that will allow you to buy a similar or better player ("Similar Transactions"). If you are trying to entice other players to buy your player, decrease the salary until the release clause is at an amount you would like to get for your player and wait. Or, you can auction your player directly. 3. Auction + Direct buy Selling players on auction is similar to transactions on eBay. All auctions on Striker Manager last for 72 hours (3 days) from the moment the player is put on auction. After the three days have passed, if anyone has placed a bid for the player, the best bid will win the auction and the player will transfer to the team of the highest bidder. Sellers can choose a starting price as low as 0, and also set a direct buy price that allows other managers to purchase the player immediately. Follow these steps to place a player on auction: a) go to the player’s profile b) click “Contract” and “Auction” c) a new window will appear. Enter the starting price you would like bidding to begin at. It is best to choose a price that is slightly below the minimum price you would like to receive for the player. Human nature will cause others to bid on the player and push the price above what you would have gotten if you set the minimum to the price you actually want to receive. d) be aware that if the direct buy amount is too high compared to similar transactions, and a friend buys the player, you could be fined the difference between the transaction price and an acceptable price. Always check prices of similar transactions by going to the player’s profile, clicking “Contract” and “Similar Transactions” before setting a price for the player. e) Release Clause is suspended for players that are on auction, and they cannot be purchased via hostile clause. If you decide that you don’t want to auction this player, you can cancel the auction through these steps: a) go to the player’s profile b) click “Contract” and “See Auction” c) click “Cancel Auction.” Note that if any bids have been placed, the “Cancel Auction” button will not be present, and the auction cannot be canceled. To buy a player on auction, click on “Market”. A new page will open, and here you will find 4 tabs on top. (a) Loan (b) Seniors (c) Juniors (d) Star In all 4 tabs you get the option to sort your search on the basis of end time, position, average and age. Once you find a player as per your requirements, click the player and a new page will open. Follow these steps to place a bid: note: If the player is a star player, you must pay 50 golden balls in order to place a bid. a) Bid: choose the lowest amount you want to bid for this player. This should almost always be the amount the system suggests, as it will suggest the lowest bid allowed. b) Maximum Bid: choose the highest amount you want to bid for this player. c) BUY NOW: if this button is present you can click it to buy the player via direct buy for the amount shown. d) Salary/Contract length: These values determine how much you will pay the player each week (see the description of these and of Release Clause under Transfer Agreement) and how many years the player’s contract will last. e) Similar Transactions: If you want to see what price similar players sold for before bidding, click this button. It is highly recommended that you always click this button before buying a player, as the market prices change throughout the season. f) Send: click this to make your bid. Q: How does maximum bid work? A: The auction will start with your minimum bid. If another player places a bid, the system will automatically re-bid with a higher amount until the other player stops bidding, or the other player bids an amount higher than your maximum bid. 4. Loan Players can be loaned for a single season to another team. The loan market is open from the start of a season until the mid-point, and then is closed for the second half of the season. Loans are free of a transfer fee or tax. The team that the player is loaned to must pay the player’s weekly salary. At the end of the season, the player returns to his home team and the home team resumes paying his salary. When they are returned, there is a small grace period allowing your roster goes over the 25 player limit for a few days. You can loan only 1 junior or 1 senior to a manager. You can loan to the same Div or below, not above. You can loan out a max of 3 seniors and 3 juniors You can loan in a max of 3 seniors and 3 juniors To loan a player, follow these steps: a) click on the player’s profile b) click “Contract” -> “Loan” c) other players will go to the loan market and make requests to transfer the player to their team. d) review them under “Signings” -> “For Sale” and click “Accept” for the request you accept, and the player will transfer to the other team immediately. A loan cannot be canceled, so be careful! To request a player on loan, follow these steps: a) click “Market” -> “Loans” b) click on a player c) click “Contract” -> “Transfer Order” d) wait for the other manager to either accept or reject your loan request. 6) "Cannot Negotiate with team" "Cannot sell player to Team" "Cannot Loan Player to this Team", etc. You and the other manager have, at some point, played on the same IP. You may have logged in months apart, but the fact is, you each have a record of logging in from the same IP. This means you "share" an IP. If you share an IP with another manager, you cannot negotiate with him. No loans, Trades, or purchases can be made with that manager or his team. Edited by @illex 31-03-2013 16:46 |
