I've had no problems with friendlies otherwise(though i did have a red card on one game, and i didn't get any money which is to be expected)

Third, I was visitor in both of the games that this happened in so all of your yo ur points are wrong. I'd love if an @ could explain what might be going wrong. User error or not. I understand that they are trying to make money by forcing people to use golden balls to automatically fix the lineup but i've checked both time before the game.
