If you having this problem try this and hopefully it works until we can fix the bug. The most common problem seems to an attacker swapping positions with a defender, this is the problem I had. Note: This is not a solution for 100% man-marking setup - this will naturally pull players out of position. What I did was used a empty slot, renamed it and saved it - then setup the players under advanced with the ball in the middle exactly where you want them to start, making sure their starting position matches their actual players position. i.e if you place a CF make sure he is in a CF position for your start. Then save again. I like to go totally out and login again. Check your formation is still there and then move the ball into each square (35 squares) of the advanced formation field and move the players to your favoured positions. They will be all over the place to start with, but just hang in there - it will come right. When all done, save again and hold the ball in the middle and move it around - your formation should move smoothly around the field. You may lose a few matches with an advanced formation as its quite customizable so can go wrong, but you will soon get the hang of it. Dont go too heavy on man-marking unless you 2 goals up as it tends to pull players out of your positions. Please use "no change" in advanced tactics to avoid any changes in formation unless intended. Please let me know if this works or not! Cheers Nic Edited by @GunnerNic 03-10-2011 22:22 |

thanks GunnerNic. I had severe problems with this last week. I've recreated all my formations from scratch making sure the numbers correspond & keeping all formations as basic. this seems to have fixed it. One thing that still happens is forwards making the wall for free kicks. we could do with option to choose the players used for walls. alternatively just set it to be wingers/wide midfielders - anything but forwards. |

100% - it would be nice to have a lot of things - all in good time I'm sure - you welcome to use the suggestion thread. I had my Striker (the highest rated free-kick taker) take my kicks then realised there was nobody to run on to the ball, so I switched to my RIM taking the kicks. This worked very effectively as my CF was now in the wall or somewhere around an attacking position. Also my CF always hit the wall with his kicks, my RIM has scored twice in the top corners, bending it beautifully Edited by @GunnerNic 30-09-2011 20:06 |

I'm still having that problem. I've created my formation from scratch and I still have my RIM finish as a CDF.... which is not what I intended him to be. Note that I am not using Man-to-Man. | 03/10/2011 03:44 |

Do you use another formation in your advanced tactics? Please use "no change" in advanced tactics to avoid any changes in formation unless intended. |
