rebsiot said: CelloG said: Rev reb, we all love you (some less than others. Wait. That came out wrong...) but shouldn't the senior @ make their own pronouncements in an update? Not everyone reads the forums. Also, I am of the opinion that if they REALLY cared about this, they would have followed Gunnernic's suggestion from last Tuesday: no income from friendlies, no weekly expenses, unlimited friendlies. At this point, they should swallow their mistake and live with it, or fix their bugs properly, and make it impossible to cheat! Yea, funny thing that.... We never find out if they're concerned until after the fact So may as well put out info I've gotten so that people can't be surprised... Oh but they can be! First of all, I predict we will see a HUGE number of teams simply disappear after next Sunday because their users weren't playing any friendlies and the weekly expenses put them in the hole for 2 weeks. This has been unfair to them. Second, admins announced 3 friendlies a day, and then played bazillions with no explanation, which tacitly approved the act. Third, a message from you on the forum is not official notice of anything except deadly pink awesomeness . All I am saying is that there is a right way to handle this and a wrong way. The right way was to shut off the bug that allowed non-@ to play more than 3 friendlies per day a week ago. The wrong way is to take away money now because the whole system is unfair. What about the div. 6/7 teams making $60k/friendly like the guy I played last week? He made that against a Div. 4 team, I can only imagine what the receipts would be against a div. 6 team! He would have made far more from a league game than he can make from 3 friendlies. OK, so perhaps we make an exception for that. What about teams that were playing @? Do we simply take away @ money, or both team's money from the friendly? What about teams who bought stadium enhancements or new players with the money they made in between the discovery of the bug and the (un)official announcement today? There is only 1 way to make this thing fair, and it is to have FIXED THE BUG LAST WEEK. From here forward, fixing the bug now would remedy the problem for the rest of the week. I happen to have not spent any of the money I made on friendlies except for weekly expenses, so I would be unaffected by a clawback of the income, but I think that punishing users for a flaw in the game is just going to breed bad will, not make the game more fair. So... what would I do in the shoes of the admins? Acknowledge that it is unfair, and announce an upper limit on friendly *income* for the weeks - NOT on numbers of friendlies - and simply cap income at that amount for all users programmatically (as in, income above that simply goes into a tax, and never into coffers). I would suggest something like a $20million limit. They need to announce it NOW for it to be fair. There's no reason for us to have to guess what will be a safe number. For users who have far exceeded this number, there will only be a few, and these users would have 4-5 days to prepare, either selling players they bought, or some other means to be ready. I would also reset experience for all players back to their starting value BEFORE the striker cup (wlll be too late after this, it wlil affect the rest of the season for unlucky losers tomorrow). To punish us for actually *using* the game when the simulator is still broken is just not a good idea, and I strongly urge any admins reading this to reconsider sanctions before it's too late. |

dah! Upper income limit is brilliant. I totally wish I'd have thought about that. |

My question is, are they gonna punish (if they are going to) daily, or let's say weekly. I have a couple of days with 4 games, but have some days with 1 or none. For the last five days I only played 14 friendlies. My main reasons to play friendlies is to check for bugs, learn best strategies and make up some money for weekly expenses. 300-400K a game is not a whole lot when you have $8.5M in weekly expenses. To be honest, just get the season started, so at least we don't have to struggle with money. |

You know I really quite liked this game, but I am getting quite fed up with the mismanagement here. Hire some people that know how to do their job. And get rid of the massive amount of bugs. Seriously. | 27/09/2011 04:17 |

Me too but you know what... I'm still here and if I'm able to play 20 friendlies per day to cover up for my expenses, so be it. It's survival mode and I wouldn't like to have a screwed sim takeover my team just because I didn't get enough income to cover up. I suggested the @'s to forgo the weekly expenses till the season begins and they said that they'll consider but nothing in concrete. So I'll do what's best for my team and if you want to limit to 3 friendlies per day and at the end fall short... That's your thing |

Considering the fact that i haven't played more than 3 friendlies in a day, i'm worried that there will be no punishments. | 27/09/2011 09:42 |

At the end of last season teams were punished for picking up free players. The admins made it clear at that time if you find a bug you should report it and not exploit it. If you have played more than 3 friendlies a day you have exploited a bug and the admins should be consistent and set out a punishment. This time they should be harsher in their punishments because people can't claim ignorance of the rules as they have done previously. There is a difference between those who have played a few extra games accidentally, and those who have tried to systematically exploit this bug. If you have played a few extra games having the money and experience removed seems fair. If however the number of extra games is large then things become really unfair. If someone has played 60 friendlies they will not only have extra money and player experience but will have so much extra experience with the simulator that they will have a massive tactical advantage. I have played about 15 games and have been adjusting my tactics little by little for every one and have only just scratched the surface. Is it fair I should play someone who has played 4 times the friendlies as me, in a league match, and has resolved tactical problems I haven't had a chance to address yet? Is it the best managers who win or those who are better at exploiting the bugs? Edited by nobody important 27-09-2011 10:23 |

Do you know whether punishments will just be taking money/experience points back or it will involve more serious things? I have played 31 until now and i'm only planning to play 1-2 more until the league starts to offset the extra games i have played... |
