 There have been suggestions for a Champions League in the past which were all declined because of the lack of extra dates for additional games.

Here is a workable suggestion for a true Champions League that lies within the current time Frame:

The Champions League would consist of 64 teams which would be playing 6 knockout rounds during the first three weeks each season (tuesday + thursday) to determine the winner while the rest of the teams would play the first six rounds of Striker's Cup. After that the 64 teams of the Champions league would also join the striker's Cup starting in round 7.

The coming season the Champions of all 64 groups of league 4 would qualify for champions league. Next season the first 4 teams of each of the of the 16 groups of league 3 would qualify. Next season the first 12 teams of all 4 groups of league 2 would qualify plus all the champions of the 16 groups of league 3. Once all the leagues are operating all 20 teams of league 1 would qualify plus the first 11 of all 4 groups of league 2.

This would add a high profile competition for the top teams of striker without blowing up the timeframe. It also would rid them of the rather boring chore of eliminating too many far inferior teams in the early rounds of Striker Cup. Plus the weaker teams would be safe from having to face the top teams in the first rounds of Striker Cup.

How about that?

 The team rankings are already there... So if admins clear how exactly it is calculated then it won't b a problem to identify top teams.... 26/08/2011 16:06

Actually we could just take all team in Div 3 next season then play off some round to have 64 teams as Champion League teams.

 Div 3 will have more than 64 teams. It will have 16 groups, 20 teams in each group so 20*16= 320 teams

 I just think that the striker cup should just be divided by divisions. Each division should have their own striker cup. I think it's not fair for a 6th div. team to be thrown in with big guys from 4th Div. Just like in real life, not every team participates in Champions League due to their level, but they do have their local cups.

And I realize that there are private leagues, I'm talking about a cup format not a league. 		28/08/2011 03:38

It's an association cup. Not a league. Just like FA, all teams participate....although, apparently in the English FA, you have to apply...

763 clubs accepted into England's FA Cup.

Think of Striker Manager as a Country, one football association..... Not the world. There will be only 1 division 1. 		28/08/2011 07:31
