Punters were queueing up to grab the VIP seats on offer for today's mouthwateringly sticky game between TeaM ELX and 4LL41.

Before kick-off even manager ytm had to use some goon to clear the aisle for his one good eye to peer down at the showpiece between the geckos and the humans (wielding some strange glowing green crystals).

Pre-game analysis by manager Slipi was optimistic "Midfieldssss are well-matched, my ssssCF is better, but hissss GK could ssssave everything."
Home favourite, manager DanielorZ was unavailable for comment, but seemed pretty relaxed, having time to temp promote his third best junior CF to play just in this game. Against such a team of dastardly leg-breaking lizards, his best hope was surely to fake an injury early in the game.

The cagey first half ended up... well, just that, the 4LL41 striker was found locked in a cage. Meanwhile the yellow humans were making merry on the pitch but getting nowhere.

With the second half, some action! Sadly it wasn't to be for 4LL41, as the yellow men, got the first goal on the board. As manager Slipi reflected to his assistant coach, "this is the stickiest situation since sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun". In fact it only got worse for the geckos as a second goal from the ridiculously talented youth who is so young, so talented and so full of promise that he could almost have been bought by Wenger to improve his ageing squad... oh dear.

So in the end a deserved win for TeaM ELX, best of luck to them in the next round as the superhumans try to stick it to the Wassabi-eating stars of their opponents. For Slipi and the Geckos (TM), just a return to dreaming about playing in the final of the Striker Cup with a similarly named cheesy 60s pop group blaring out their favourite walk-on music...
