Should the decline of older players be slowed down?
YES! because my older players (over 27) get useless too quickly
no, things are fine the way they are

One thing I really don't like is how the older players decline in skill when you train them. If anything, training should slow down their regression.

Please change this if you can for the next version.

Also, once again, Charisma should go up as the player ages. And Charisma should effect the entire team's training/motivation, if you've ever played sports with a really good bunch of guys you know that good chemistry beats talent and poor chemistry all the time (unless you are the Miami Heat... you'll only fizzle in the Finals)

the heat jokes never get old...

you're right though, there is no excuse for why training in any form should hasten the degeneration of a player's skill. it just doesn't make any logical sense. training an older player should be a case of trying to keep him relevant by keeping him active, not leading him to the glue factory like a horse past its prime. it's virtually worthless owning any players over 28--which i think is 4 years too young to be considered "old" and start losing skill anyway.

I think that the decline should start at 29 +/- 3 years (random for each player. As early as 26, and as late as 32), and then the decline should be something like -.20 to -.99 for each year (this would depend on how much training your player did), or even something severe like career ending injuries, with chances for career ending injuries getting MUCH higher for older players (that would keep players with over 70 average from playing until they are like 50 years old!). 03/07/2011 20:39

Inter milan under the special one was full of veterans with little talent, but they conquered the world. 04/07/2011 09:56

yah, it's amazing what good chemistry can do for a team. Look at this year's NHL and NBA winners, they were both very outmatched in terms of raw skill, but their veterans pulled them through.

BTW, my initial poll questions were confusing, so I think a few people might have voted "no" thinking it was the other option.
Darn you English and your ambiguity!
