Well F**k me running. No wonder teams that have been here since March have cash to spare. that's like over 20M worth of players....for free. What a head start...One that has likely compounded through the season and will compound again....Not taking away from the amount of work, but that is a serious bonus. This explains some of the remarks "weak for a div 5 team", and the complaints from teams created in April when they were trying to calibrate new team strength. ok, I'm done complaining I don't think its a good idea to put them all at 0, either. and there's no good way to go back in time. Maybe if they start every player 49 and below at 0, and start every player 50 and over "at an appropriate price" That would level the playing field a bit. |

@rebsiot Just for the record: I complained last year about the way the market was flooded with top players, because I felt all my work so far was devaluated by these three days. And I was aware that not everybody was so lucky to have enough time to make full use of the arising opportunities and I found that very unfair and still do. Therefore I like Your suggestion to allow other players to catch up by determining a proper limit up to that players will be for free once again, because I'm aware of the continuing advantage I've still got for example over You, that results from a bad rule 3 months ago. Something like that should be worked out by the admins. At least for this season. In the long run there shouldn't be any further giveaways of good players. It should be: If You wanna have a good player You either build talent or You earn money to buy one. |

I believe you, I also believe it will all level out, when I pass you on the ladder. I don't even think they should unleash them all in the first place, even at an appropriate price, unless that is their escape clause. only a few days to wait, anyway. So now you can give away your best players to me and prove you mean it! There's a bit about the game that is inherently unfair, but so is life. what's happening is that the very best teams can really only take on a couple of players over 50, anyway, the rest will be filling in holes. I'm not concerned about it, really. It's fun to talk and complain about, but I will likely be in a better cash position in 2 months when i'm in Div 5...as will all the people who started with me. I overtook the first place team with 2 games remaining. I've done pretty well for 5-6 weeks of work... now I just have to fill a few back up positions, and my idea of a good player is out of whack with what I have in my pocket. |

I've done pretty well for 5-6 weeks of work... now I just have to fill a few back up positions, and my idea of a good player is out of whack with what I have in my pocket. You see, that was exactly me 3 months ago, before the shopping spree came along. Within a few hours I saw all my good work reduced to nothing and I realized I had to start from scratch unless I wanna end up with a team that is the laughing stock of the league. What would You have done in my place? I'm very aware, that there is no such thing as perfect fairness. Whatever You do, there will always be some unlucky guy who is a little worse off, without this being his fault. But we should nevertheless try to set game rules as fair as possible. Most important: We should always try to learn from mistakes. After all everybody should have fun and enjoy the game. Looking forward to meet You in the stadium. P.S.: My suggestion 3 months ago was the exact opposite of yours now, to drastically reduce the numbers of freebies released at season's end, say by destroying 99% of the free agents and put the rest up for sale in an auction with the starting prize 0 and leave the rest to the mechanisms of a free market. In the end the market would have decided what these players are worth and there would have been no free lunches. The trouble 3 months ago was basicly that there was much more supply than what was needed to satisfy demand. |

That would have been my suggestion 3 months ago also. I still think it would be a better solution to dissolve the players on inactive teams, and continue forward, but if they are going out there, then at least make it constructive and try to level things out a bit. The top div 5 teams won't care about players under 50, they are looking at players they can get into the 60's if they want to make it into Div 4 The lower div 5 and top div 6 teams should be working to fill gaps with them, and will likely bid up players in the 48-50 range, they will also go after the higher progression ones (along w/ div 5t teams) The next tier will eat cake. I would have worked to crush the opposition if I was in your position. Soaking the "free" market for all it was worth. I propose that admin let me do that now, by giving me a 24 hour window to let me have any and all of the players of my choosing....for free. |

I don't think it's a big deal, training-up is the only to be stronger, in my opinion. Let's what will happen, |

I liked the end of season rush for decent players and would like the same again this offseason, starting price zero, and letting the market set the price. It was strategic (who shall I bid/spend on with my small bankroll?) and to be truthful, those few days were more exciting than regular season play/strategy, even though I could only be on the site for an hour or two in the evenings. I ended up snagging a couple of cheap good players and a couple of cheap average/old players but it was hardly a gold rush with the resources I had. I'm building my team via training and youth but results are seasons away with a couple of decent 14/15 year olds I have, so the chance to maybe grab a couple of under-priced players to patch some holes in my ageing team was great for gameplay and a nice reward for the players that stick with the game. my 2 cents |
