I have found out that there is a possibility to use 50 golden balls (GB) for a bonus feature in order to make your team perform much better in a single game. For me it is utterly OK to provide this GB-system where you can pay real money to acquire some hints, helpful gadget and non-significant advantages like faster recovery on your players.

BUT, in my opinion it can never be acceptable for a game like this to actually pay real money just to perform better overall without doing anything more than just...paying. There is a fine line between getting helped and getting served. So please, Striker Manager-staff, remove this bonus feature.. :-/

Well, that better-performing option is not as decisive as it seems, I mean, if your team is not good enough compared with your oponnent's, you'll lose in the same way. Remember that this game takes a lot of time to the programmers, so that's why are some extra options with may be used by paying money, they spend a lot of their time and effort to let us to have fun here. 27/02/2011 12:58

I am understanding about that you need to make a profit on this game by providing features that users have to pay for. But what I was trying to say was that these features should not be too simple - you should not be able to just pay money and then gain success without combining paying and coaching. Based on what this Bonus-feature tells in the manual ("GREATLY improves the performance of the team during the game"), I think this case obviously clears the way for paying without thinking. However, if "greatly" means not greatly but just slightly, then I think you can remove that word in the manual 27/02/2011 14:03

You're being too sharp Pansarmyran. We can't determine what "greatly" means here, I mean, the exact amount of improving that the feature will give to your team in the match. But I can tell you that if the other team is clearly better than the one which pays the feature, it hasn't got many chances to win. That's only one of the extra features of the game, but it's not as decisive as you think.

One thing to take into account is that you are "paying" twice - in both golden-balls and in in-game money. So, basically, the option is not only paying... You will lose some money from your team account by using this. 27/02/2011 22:38

Hi guys!

I won't worry too much about the "Bonus" feature. Firstly its quite expensive so most people won't use it. Second if you go by the assumption that an important game is just as important to both players both teams might use the bonus function for the same game and so there will be no effect of the bonus function anyway. So if there is any argument to removing the feature the problem above is why. So far I haven't felt that anyone has had any major advantage due to purchased success in my games.

PS. I have gold balls but haven't used them on anything but unlocking permanent stuff like the player archive.

Ok, thank you for the answers. I had no idea it costs in-game money as well to purchase this feature. If that is the case, then I think even I can endure this feature to be perpetuated. However, I still think this single feature should not cost golden balls because it might be strategically crucial. Case closed for me. 27/02/2011 23:23

After more than 2 years running this game in Spain and nearing 300.000 registered users we have some people who are really EXPERTS in this game. They use strategies that we never thought of and had defeted hundreds of other teams most of them without even using GB.

The most apreciated GB feature is search+ and players' traning forecast. They don't really care about bonus.

What I mean is that this is a long run game. Using bonus in 1 game may give you a victory but winning a battle doesn't makes you win the war. Using bonus in every game is impossible and would make us rich

Hi,

I tried it once, just to see what happened and i lost the game. Of course the opponent was way better than me.

So, i think it is ok feature, but just so that programmers get some money (which they totally deserve).

I would only use it in case i am in the last game of the season and can top the table with a win (or important cup game), even if I have a game with weaker team. That way you just make the odds a bit more favourable for you.

Otherwise it is too expensive.
